IAAM projects are developed to promote the care and concern of humanity in places where human dignity is being undermined. In such places, frailty in the human condition is exploited to denigrate individual personhood or the inherent dignity of humanity, thus targeting the population served.
Dehumanization increases opportunities for exploitation. IAAM projects exist to shore up vulnerability. In some cases such frailty includes poverty, hunger, imprisonment, statelessness, stage of life, etc.. These conditions and others can be preyed upon by a society and culture supportive of the use of human beings as product, commodifying parts of their humanity for personal gain.
IAAM projects exist due to the developmental, administrative, programmatic, or financial support of the Mission. Project needs differ based on where and how they operate. For example: Some operate within project-rented spaces while others within Mission-owned buildings requiring infrastructure and continual upkeep. Other considerations inculde the nature and scope of the work.
IAAM projects are tied to specific locations around the world across a variety of focuses. These serve to address major factors to protect the population served and to attend to the defense of human dignity.
