1st Choice Pregnancy Resources of Pamlico is a project to accompany pregnant and parenting women and families in need. The mission is to cultivate courage, empowering as many individuals as possible to make life-affirming choices consistent with the inherent dignity of every human life. People are met where they are with compassion. 1st Choice helps them take courage in the moment, and in the next, and the next, until they find hope for the future, and The Hope.
1st Choice Pregnancy Resources of Pamlico is part of a larger work to address vulnerability and better guard human dignity amid current culture and conditions. This domestic project is situated in Pamlico County, North Carolina, USA.
“You Are Not Alone” is embodied here. Compassion compels us to enter into their circumstances; in their joy and in their need. Walking with women takes on a community dimension within this project in the defense of dignity.
There is great need for support of our daily operations as well as for future planned services. 1st Choice serves through hundreds of contacts each year. Follow-up and mentorship of these clients is essential for positive outcomes.
While the project was originally conceived as an outreach, the level of poverty in Pamlico County and the needs of the people of the community were so great that IAAM determined full time missionaries were necessary to develop this special project. Having them on-location opened up additional opportunities to serve in this area of significant vulnerability.
Our life-affirming mission project exists only with the help of those who are passionate about human dignity and have a heart for mission. Monthly or other support of 1st Choice Pregnancy Resources of Pamlico will help reinforce and maintain current efforts while widening the scope of service in order to meet the great need we are called to address.
